Here is a listing of some of the currently available SAS products:
Base SAS
The basic building block for all SAS System areas: data access,
data management, data analysis, data representation, and a rich
and productive programming environment.
SAS/STAT
Includes a wide range of statistical capabilities. These statistical
techniques have been programmed into easy-to-use SAS procedures.
SAS/GRAPH
SAS/GRAPH software is used to represent information in full-color
grahics or for generating presentation graphics. The software can be
used to generate standard or customized charts, plots, and maps.
Graphics output can be stored in an on-line catalog. The software user
can display multiple graphs on a single page and route output to a wide
selection of graphics devices including graphics terminals, plotters,
printers, and slide production equipment.
SAS/ETS
Includes procedures for performing time series extraction, data
management, and plotting; forecasting and time series analysis;
modeling and econometrics; and financial reporting.
SAS/IML
SAS/IML software is an interactive matrix programming language facility
for mathematical programming, analysis, and manipulation. The most
widely used data management, mathematical, and matrix operators are
built directly into the software. SAS/IML software offers a high-level
programming approach similar to APL, but easier to use. Users have a
complete programming language with features for arithmetic and character
expressions, data input and output, control of execution, and program
modularization.
SAS/EIS
SAS/EIS addresses both the development and presentation aspects of
Executive Information Systems. SAS/EIS software allows for the rapid
development of high-level information delivery systems. The software
allows for total integration of an EIS application from transparent
data access and management to decision support analysis to
sophisticated presentation of results, all through a graphical user
interface. The software is designed to tie data and applications
together, and to provide sophisticated navigational capabilities.
SAS/OR
SAS/OR is an operations research tool used for critical path
analysis, linear programming, and project management. The software can
be used to solve transportation problems and determine
minimum cost flow, maimum flow, and shortest path through a network.
Project scehdulres can be plotted on a Gantt chart using the
high-resolution plotting procedures. The software also features
network drawing, graphing capabilities, and a menu-driven interface.
SAS/QC
SAS/QC software provides tools for statistical quality control and
design of experiments. The software includes full-screen menu
environments that lead users through a wide range of quality
improvement tasks. The software can be userd to organize quality
improvement efforts, design experiments for product and process
improvement, apply Taguchi methods for quality engineering, establish
statistical control of a process, maintain statistical control and
reduce variation, analyze process capability, and develop and
evaluate acceptance sampling plans.
SAS/CALC
SAS/CALC software is a fully-featured spreadsheet ideal for financial
anaylsis, numerical modeling, and corporate-wide consolidation and
management.
SAS/FSP
SAS/FSP software includes procedures for full-screen interactive data
entry, editing, querying, and letter writing. The software's screen
painting capabilities can be used to create customized data entry
screens. The software handles any amount of data and serves as an
on-line tracking system for those who need to scan and update
information quickly and easily.
SAS/AF
SAS/AF software is used to interactively develop menu-driven front-ends
to applications. Menus and fill-in-the blank screens can be tailored
to the experience level of the user. The software includes procedures
for constructing screens and controlling the user's path through an
application. SAS Institute used theis software to create the
SAS/ASSIST interface.
SAS/INSIGHT
SAS/INSIGHT software is a highly interactive tool for graphical data
analysis. The software enables users to explore data through a variety
of graphic displays (i.e. bar charts, scatter plots, three-dimensional
rotating plots). All observations are linked, so changes in one
graph show immediately in all others.
SAS/LAB
SAS/LAB software is an interpretation and suggestion-driven data
analysis product. An interactive menu suggests analysis paths and
general interpretations of the data and output.
SAS/CONNECT
SAS/CONNECT software is a convenient vehicle for uploading and
downloading all kinds of SAS data including data sets, full-screen
catalogs, graphics catalogs, and data from previous SAS releases-
as well as external files such as text or binary. A connection between
two SAS sessions gives users the ability to transfer data between
sessions and across hardware platforms. This same connection provides
remote submission capabilities; specifically, SAS statements can be sent
from the local session to the remote session for execution.
The SAS System supports many different modes of communication across
multiple hardware platforms. Various network hardware supported
includes Token Ring, Fiber, and Ethernet.
SAS/ACCESS
SAS/ACCESS software is an ongoing commitment by the Institute
to provide direct and transparent interfaces between the SAS System
and the most widely used data management products. You can read in
data from your DBMS, store data from the SAS System directly into your
DBMS, and update values in a database directly from the SAS System-
all without risk to data security.
SAS/ASSIST
SAS/ASSIST software is a menu-driven interface to many of the data
access, management, analysis, presentation, and applications
development capabilities described in the previous SAS products.
SAS/ENGLISH
SAS/ENGLISH software is used for easy queries of data. Through an
interactive menu SAS/ENGLISH builds SQL queries that can find, order,
and summarize data. The software uses a knowledge base that describes
the data in terms of real-world concepts, relationships, and vocabulary.
SAS/GIS
SAS/GIS software provides for access and management of TIGER, DIME,
DLG, and DXF data, display of detail maps, the ability to
analyze data for greater map detail and handle applications
like automoted mapping/facilities management, demographic marketing,
routing, and redistricting.
